Summit LIFE's mission statement:
Summit Life endeavors to be the modern day Book of Acts Church as:
"A Spirit-filled Church dedicated to the discipleship of others through the Gospel of Jesus Christ, in Spirit & Truth, for the Glory of God." ** We are very intentional about our purpose and mission. Every sermon and small groups topic is built around this vision. We believe this is the heartbeat of God - to win the lost & disciple them to go out and reach others.
** It is our intention as we grow to become one of several locations, by one day producing daughter works throughout the area. We will not grow one large church only. We want to commission & send out passionate people to reach new areas. We do not believe it is God's will that we only receive people into our church, but we must be Kingdom-minded and also send out. The early Church practiced this, and they grew because of it.
** We are not worried about numbers. We are more concerned with 'quality' rather than 'quantity'. We believe if we will take care of our Father's business, He will take care of our business. It is Summit LIFE's intention to grow quality people with a heart for ministry, instead of growing a crowd for the sake of numbers in attendance. This means we focus on one person at a time; one family at a time. We believe Jesus did this way and we should too. This approach takes a little longer, but quality usually does.
** We believe in releasing the Body of Christ in ministry. That's right, the Body of Christ has ministry - not just the preacher. We believe that every spirit-filled member can expect to be used of God as He would choose. And at the very least, all our members are called to be witnesses (Acts 1:8). But we encourage each one to pursue a personal relationship with Jesus Christ which should include hearing from God for themselves. We encourage the gifts of the Spirit to be sought after. But we also encourage that ALL members first seek to have the gift of Wisdom operating in their spirit-life & personal life.
God will use anyone who makes themselves available to Him. It is not our ability that God looks for. It is our AVAIL-ability.
